What helps us evaluate the RV accurately?
- Year, manufacturer, model, and approximate length
- Mileage for a motorhome
- Title, registration, and lien status
- Recent exterior and interior photographs
- Known mechanical, roof, water, electrical, slide, tire, or appliance problems

Rhode Island RV Paperwork Is Worth Checking Early
Rhode Island changed its vehicle title law effective January 1, 2024. The Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles now states that vehicles of every model year can receive a Rhode Island title, including model-year-2000-and-older vehicles that were previously handled under the state’s former non-title rules.
That matters if you own an older motorhome or other titled RV. For a Rhode Island vehicle model year 2000 or older that was first registered to the seller before January 1, 2024, the DMV says the seller may provide a bill of sale together with valid proof of ownership in the seller’s name. If that older vehicle was first registered to the seller on or after January 1, 2024, the DMV says a properly assigned title is required along with the bill of sale.
Do not guess about missing documents or wait until pickup day to mention an active loan. Tell us what paperwork you have and whether a lienholder is still involved. The exact ownership situation can then be reviewed before the transaction moves forward.
If the RV Does Not Move, Pickup Access Matters
A non-running RV can still be considered, but the condition of the vehicle is only half of the pickup question. The other half is whether removal equipment can reach it safely.
- Does the RV roll, steer, and have brakes that release?
- Do the tires hold air, and are all wheels present?
- Are the keys available?
- For a trailer or fifth wheel, is the hitch or pin area accessible?
- Are there narrow gates, soft ground, low branches, parked vehicles, or tight turns between the RV and the road?
If the RV is at a campground, storage facility, repair shop, or another managed property, include gate hours and any facility requirements. A photograph showing the route from the RV to the road can be just as useful as a close-up of the damage.

Can I sell an older Rhode Island RV if I never received a title?
Possibly, depending on its registration history.
