Travel Trailers Have a Separate Boise Street-Parking Rule
Boise separately regulates trailers and other nonvehicular items occupying on-street parking spaces.
Unless specifically allowed by a permit from the Ada County Highway District or another entity with jurisdiction, Boise City Code §6-10A-12 prohibits a trailer or other covered item from remaining in an on-street parking space for longer than 72 consecutive hours. The section also prohibits placement that makes vehicular or pedestrian traffic dangerous and requires specified reflective devices between sunset and sunrise.
The same section treats a short move of less than 600 feet for less than 24 contiguous hours as continuous parking or storage rather than a fresh parking period.

That matters when selling a travel trailer or fifth wheel. Pulling it from a compliant storage location to the street does not improve its value and can add a local parking deadline.
Alley Access Needs to Be Planned Before the RV Moves
Boise City Code §6-10A-10 generally prohibits stopping, standing, or parking a vehicle in an alley except during necessary, active, and expeditious loading or unloading of merchandise, supplies, or materials. That activity may not exceed 20 minutes. If the vehicle would prevent emergency passage or block an adjoining driveway or entrance, it must remain attended.

Do not assume that an alley is available as an extended staging area for an RV inspection, tow vehicle, or recovery equipment.
If alley access is the only practical route to the RV, photograph:
- alley width
- gate opening
- fence clearance
- turning room
- parked vehicles
- utility poles
- overhead wires
- nearby structures
- the approach to the RV

Show the Route Out Before You Pay to Move the RV

Boise’s Harris Ranch development regulations contain additional rules for trailers, camp trailers, boats, boat trailers, recreational vehicles, and other vehicles not in daily use.
For alley-loaded garage lots, the code restricts these vehicles from parking in front and street-side setbacks. For front-loaded garage lots, it restricts them in the front and street-side setbacks or on an adjacent street for more than 24 hours.

If an RV is already legally stored on a Harris Ranch property, check the applicable provision before moving it into a setback or onto an adjacent street simply to prepare for a sale.
A Disabled RV Can Create a Towing Problem If It Is Staged Carelessly
The City of Boise says it may immediately tow a vehicle under specified extraordinary circumstances, including when the vehicle blocks or impedes traffic, creates a potential emergency-vehicle hazard, interferes with snow removal or road maintenance, or is unregistered or displays expired registration.

This does not mean a damaged or non-running RV is automatically subject to towing.
It does mean that moving a difficult-to-move RV from a lawful private location into a position that obstructs public operations can create a new problem.
