Sell Your RV in Rock Springs Before You Move It Again

An unwanted RV can become a moving project before it becomes a selling project. Maybe it no longer runs, needs to come out of the front of the property, has been moved temporarily onto the street, or would require another tow just to put it somewhere easier to advertise. Before solving those problems one at a time, find out whether the RV can be evaluated and removed from where it is now.

Samy RV has bought RVs directly since 2009. Older, damaged, high-mileage, and non-running units can be reviewed as-is, and free towing is included with accepted purchases.

No obligation. Free towing included.

If You Move It to the Street, the Clock Matters

Rock Springs has a local rule worth knowing before an RV is moved onto a residential street simply to make selling or pickup easier. Under Rock Springs Code §71.04, a motor coach, trailer, or recreational vehicle generally may remain on a public right-of-way in a residential district for no more than 100 hours. Moving the unit from one public-right-of-way location to another does not stop or restart that period.

The city also addresses unlicensed or inoperative RVs kept on property. Rock Springs Code §50.12 allows one unlicensed or inoperative recreational vehicle on a property under stated conditions, including side- or rear-yard storage and screening from public view. The same section says a disabled vehicle or vehicle under repair that remains in a residential front yard for more than 100 hours is considered a nuisance.

Those provisions do not mean every legally stored RV has a 100-hour deadline. They do mean that moving an unwanted unit from one place to another can create a parking or property issue without improving the RV itself. If it is already somewhere that can be evaluated and reached for removal, determine whether moving it again is necessary at all.

Show How the RV Can Leave

“Doesn’t run” is not enough information for pickup planning. A motorhome may have an engine failure and still roll, steer, shift into neutral where applicable, and be positioned for loading. A fifth wheel or travel trailer needs a different assessment: hitch or pin-box access, landing gear or tongue jack, wheels, tires, brakes, axles, and frame condition matter more than whether anything starts.

Photograph the RV itself, but also step back and show the driveway or access road, gate, ground surface, slope, nearby vehicles or equipment, fencing, overhead clearance, and maneuvering room. A close photograph shows what is wrong with the RV. A wide photograph shows whether it can leave.

If the unit has been sitting for a long time, the guide to selling an RV that doesn’t run explains the difference between a vehicle that will not start and one that is genuinely difficult to remove. That deeper condition topic does not need to be repeated on a Rock Springs city page.

Spend Money Only When It Changes the Sale

A repair can make sense when it clearly changes the outcome. A battery may change whether an engine starts. Tires may change whether an RV can be handled safely. A tow changes where the unit is parked. None of those expenses automatically improves an unrelated roof leak, soft floor, drivetrain failure, water damage, or ownership problem.

The useful question is not simply whether something can be fixed. It is what fixing it changes. If the expense is mainly intended to move an unwanted RV somewhere else before selling it, establish whether that relocation is necessary first.

For an as-is review, provide the year, make and model, mileage where applicable, current photographs, known problems, what has not been tested, title or lien status, exact location, and the access view showing how the RV could leave. Then request an RV offer and compare it with the next repair, tow, or storage expense before spending the money.

Get the Sweetwater County Ownership Issue Ready

Removal planning and legal ownership are separate jobs. Wyoming vehicle titles and lien filings are handled through county clerks, according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation. Before pickup, locate the title and identify any unresolved lien, missing-title problem, ownership mismatch, or estate issue.

For local title matters, use the Sweetwater County Clerk for the current requirements that apply to the transaction. Broader statewide selling information belongs on the Wyoming RV selling page rather than being duplicated across every city URL.

Find Out What It Is Worth Where It Sits

Before moving the RV again, putting it on the street, or paying to fix it merely for relocation, establish the as-is alternative. Describe the RV honestly, show where it sits and how it can be reached, and compare the offer with what solving the next problem would actually cost.
