1. Dale’s Auto Recycling and Salvage – Syracuse
Dale’s Auto Recycling and Salvage is the clearest currently verified in-state option for someone trying to place a complete RV with a recycler. Its own FAQ states that the facility accepts RVs in addition to cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, equipment, and machinery.
Dale’s also dismantles end-of-life vehicles and sells reusable parts. That does not mean it maintains a large RV-specific parts inventory, so a person looking for a refrigerator, window, awning, or coach-body component should call before making the trip. If you need to dispose of an entire motorhome or camper, explain the RV’s length, condition, title status, whether it rolls, and where it is located before assuming pickup is available for that particular unit.
2. Kloiber Auto Recycling – Holland
Kloiber Auto Recycling is not being presented here as a dedicated RV yard. It is a current New York vehicle dismantling facility. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s active dismantler list shows Kloiber Auto Recycling, Inc. at 10353 Darien Road in Holland with an active vehicle-dismantling registration through May 31, 2029.
What could not be confirmed from a current first-party source is whether Kloiber presently stocks RV-specific parts or accepts complete motorhomes and travel trailers. Treat it as a legitimate dismantler to contact, not as a guaranteed RV intake location. Call 716-655-4012 before moving a vehicle.
3. Carney’s RV ReStore – Massena
Carney’s is different from the two recyclers above because its historical first-party material was specifically built around camper and RV parts. Those pages described close to one hundred retired campers and parts including doors, windows, awnings, refrigerators, furnaces, water heaters, axles, brakes, landing gear, furniture, plumbing fixtures, and electrical components.
Current business information still lists Carney’s RV ReStore Sales LLC at 377 Willard Road in Massena, phone 315-764-7161. However, its former website currently redirects to unrelated content, so do not rely on that domain for contact, ordering, or payment. Call directly and confirm that the business is operating and that the part you need is actually available before traveling.
If New York Does Not Have the Part
For model-specific motorhome components, a genuine RV dismantler outside New York can be more useful than calling a long list of ordinary auto junkyards.
Colaw RV Salvage in Carthage, Missouri maintains dedicated RV salvage inventory covering appliances, generators, awnings, furniture, electrical components, hydraulic leveling equipment, engines, transmissions, axles, suspension, and other motorhome parts.
Visone RV Parts in East Bernstadt, Kentucky specializes in used motorhome and RV components, including exterior body panels, generators, appliances, replacement glass, furniture, chassis parts, interiors, and insurance-salvage vehicles. It is an out-of-state parts source, not a New York salvage yard.
Know What to Ask for Before Calling About a Used RV Part
“I need a window for an old camper” usually is not enough information. Before calling a salvage supplier, gather the RV manufacturer, model, year, photos, dimensions, and any component label, manufacturer, model number, or part number you can find.
Motorhomes add another layer. A refrigerator, furnace, awning, entry door, converter, or slide component belongs to the coach side of the RV. An engine, transmission, steering component, differential, or some suspension parts may be identified through the underlying Ford, Chevrolet, Workhorse, Freightliner, Spartan, or other chassis. For those components, the chassis VIN and component number can matter more than the motorhome’s badge.
A Missing New York Title Does Not Give a Yard Permission to Take the RV
Proof of ownership matters when an RV is going to a dismantler or scrap processor. New York does have a narrow exception for certain vehicles whose owners do not possess a valid title, but it should not be treated as a general no-title workaround.
The New York DMV MV-35 form may be used by the vehicle owner only when the vehicle is worth $1,250 or less, is at least eight model years old, and is being transferred to a registered vehicle dismantler, itinerant vehicle collector, or certified scrap processor. DMV states that a vehicle transferred this way may never be titled again and must be dismantled or scrapped.
If you are buying a salvage motorhome with the intention of rebuilding it for road use, that is a different path. New York requires a salvage vehicle examination before issuing a new title or registration for qualifying rebuilt salvage vehicles, and the resulting New York title carries the “REBUILT SALVAGE” brand.
What If You Need the Whole RV Gone Instead?
A salvage-yard search often starts with a parts problem and ends with a removal problem. If you do not need a used component and instead have a complete damaged or non-running RV that you want off the property, compare the dismantler route with a whole-RV evaluation before paying to transport it yourself.
